Public libraries across Malta and Gozo are wonderful destinations for children to explore, learn, and enjoy reading. With 56 libraries forming a national network, families are never too far from a world of stories. The Central Public Library in Floriana and the Gozo Central Public Library in Rabat (Gozo) are the largest, offering extensive collections, including a dedicated Junior Library designed especially for young readers.

These libraries provide books and resources for educational, recreational, and informational purposes, with new titles regularly added to match children’s interests and reading levels. From picture books and early readers to fun facts and exciting adventures, there’s something for every young mind.

To make access even easier, seven Regional Libraries—located in Birkirkara, Luqa, Mosta, Paola, Qormi, Rabat, and Vittoriosa—extend key services across Malta. In addition, 47 Branch Libraries are spread throughout towns and villages, often found in schools or Local Councils, each tailored to local community needs.

A visit to the library is more than a simple outing—it’s a chance for children to dive into imagination, discover new topics, and build lifelong reading habits. Whether it’s your first visit or a weekly stop, our libraries welcome children with open arms and open books.

Closest Food & Beverage outlets are found within Valletta city or Valletta waterfront.
