Shirojudokwai Dojo in Fgura is a dedicated school for learning and mastering the art of Judo. Shiro Judo Kwai is a family-run martial arts school located in Fgura, Malta. With over 20 years of experience, the club focuses on teaching Judo not just as a sport, but as a way to build character, discipline, and physical fitness.

The club offers highly specialized programs categorized by age and skill level:

1. Toddlers & Early Childhood

  • Tiny Tumble Judo (Ages 2 to 5): These sessions focus on “Active Start.” Children learn basic motor skills like falling, tumbling, crawling, and jumping. The classes also emphasize social conduct and discipline in a fun environment.

2. Children & Juniors

  • Young Dragons Squad (Age 6): Aimed at beginners. This program focuses on “FUNdamentals,” teaching the core building blocks of judo such as balance, movement, and posture.

  • Dragons Squad (Primary ages, approx. 7–11): For children ready to take judo more seriously. The focus shifts to “Learning to Train,” introducing technical repertoire, grading preparation, and technical sparring (randori).

  • Girls Squad (Ages 7 to 14): A specialized class (starting January 2026) focusing on technical and competitive judo specifically for girls, as well as practical self-defense.

3. Teens & Adults

  • Shiai Squad (Ages 12+): This is the competitive wing of the school (“Learn to Compete”). It is open to individuals with the technical and mental attributes required for high-level training and local or international competitions.

  • Teens & Adults (Ages 12 to 40+): General classes for older students focusing on technique, sparring, and fitness.

  • Self-Defense (Ages 14+): Focused on practical skills and personal safety using judo’s throws, holds, and locks.
