Founded in 1862, Soċjetà Mużikali Peace, it is one of the oldest and most prominent band clubs in the village of Naxxar, based in the historic Palazzo Vittoria.

The society focuses on promoting musical culture, particularly through its wind band, and provides professional music tuition to the community.

Courses Offered & Age Groups

The society offers a structured music education program for those interested in eventually joining the band. The courses are categorized based on age and musical level:

1. Early Childhood: “Hug-a-Tune” (Music Appreciation)

  • Target Age: Young children (typically starting around ages 4 to 7).

  • Details: This is a creative and interactive program designed for “small hands and big hearts.” It focuses on introducing children to the basics of music through:

    • Rhythm and tempo.

    • Pitch and dynamics.

    • Creative movement and songs.

    • Exploring different musical instruments.

  • Schedule: Classes are usually held weekly in a safe and energetic environment.

2. Primary & Secondary: Professional Music Tuition

  • Target Age: Children and teenagers (generally ages 7+).

  • Details: Students are taught by professional music teachers. The curriculum includes:

    • Music Theory: Reading and writing music.

    • Instrumental Practice: Once a student has a basic grasp of theory, they begin learning a specific wind or percussion instrument (e.g., clarinet, trumpet, flute, saxophone).

  • Goal: These lessons prepare students for formal music examinations and for eventual integration into the Peace Band as “bandisti” (bandsmen).
