The Ta’ Qali Recreation Area includes a family-friendly zone known as the Picnic Area, conveniently situated between the BOV Adventure Park and the Ta Qali Petting Farm. Covering roughly 6 hectares (58,459.10 m²), this spacious area is ideal for families to gather and enjoy outdoor picnics. It also features a dedicated dog park, offering a safe space for pets to play and interact.
Ambjent Malta continues to enhance the site with recent improvements such as the installation of new picnic tables beneath the trees for added comfort. Additional outdoor amenities—including wooden benches and sunshade structures (each providing 72 m² of cover)—are being introduced to increase shaded seating areas for both children and adults. The landscape has also been enriched with the planting of Holm Oak and Aleppo Pine trees, offering more greenery and natural shade throughout the picnic area.
Parking
Large parking areas are situated just outside the several entrances, and parking is free of charge.
Pushchair accessibility
The main paths within the park are paved, however some areas, mainly the shaded tree areas, have a primarily soil and small rock foundation. In general, the park is accessible with a pushchair, especialyl the paved areas.
